Lisa Frontado is the Director of the Learning Incubator, where together with the LInc group, she develops, implements and evaluates LInc programming aimed at innovating pedagogy in engineering and the sciences.  Prior to joining the Learning Incubator, Lisa spent nine years as Manager of Academy Programs at the Academy Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard Medical School, where she worked together with faculty to develop programming aimed at creating a community of educators and fostering a culture of inquiry and reflection around teaching and learning at Harvard Medical School. Prior to HMS, Lisa spent nine years at Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero, a think tank focusing on the enhancement of learning and thinking skills in the humanistic and scientific disciplines. While at HGSE, Lisa was also part of the Learning Innovation Laboratory, a consortium of researchers and practitioners who considered the challenges of human learning and innovation in organizations focused on scientific development, engineering, national defense, and aviation. Lisa’s interests lie in the development of thinking skills, reasoning attitudes, problem solving and decision-making in complex environments. Lisa is bilingual in English and Spanish. She holds a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College, an M.S. in Mass Communications from Boston University’s College of Communication and an Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
