To help faculty adapt to the remote learning scenario in the Fall, LInc is offering a short course to complement the FAS training sessions. The course, for faculty only, will demonstrate how to increase student engagement and address the following questions:
-
How can I record my lectures and make them interactive even when viewed asynchronously?
- What pedagogies might I leverage to best use synchronous time and keep students engaged?
The sessions of the short course will focus on the following pedagogies:
Lecturing — how to best record lectures, make them interactive even when delivered asynchronously, and free up synchronous time to interact with students.
Case-based Learning — how to leverage intrinsic motivation by using cases in a virtual classroom.
*This session will be conducted in Minerva’s virtual learning environment, Forum
Project-based Learning — how to create and support compelling project experiences using opportunities afforded by remote learning.
Team-based Learning — how to amplify online engagement and build a sense of community with well-designed team activities.
The LInc staff will be available over the summer to help support participants with specific course implementation issues.
